G7, Meloni and attention towards the South: “this is why Puglia”

The choice to host the G7 in Pugliaby the Meloni government, it’s not random. An expanding region, and among the most beautiful in the South and in the whole of Italy, it is home to the important event for the attention that the FdI-led executive has towards Southern Italy. The Prime Minister himself underlined this on social media. “Italy chose to host the leaders’ summit in Puglia, it was not a random choice: we did it because Puglia is a region of Southern Italy and the message we want to give is of a G7 which, under the Italian presidency, wants to strengthen its dialogue with the Nations of the Global South”it is read.

“We did it because this land is historical a bridge between West and Eastis a land of dialogue at the center of Mediterranean, of that middle sea that connects the two great maritime spaces of the globe, the Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific. That sea is also represented in the symbol that Italy has chosen for this Italian presidency, together with another symbol of our identity, the centuries-old olive tree with its solid roots, its branches projected into the future. Among the branches are seven olives, the symbol of our Nations that cooperate together on great global challenges.”
