The Viterbo prison is named after Nicandro Izzo

VITERBO – “This morning, the dedication ceremony of the Viterbo prison took place in memory of the officer Nicandro Izzo, an Italian hero barbarously killed by the Camorra for having carried out his work with honor in the service of the nation.
Present were the widow and son of the representative Izzo, the civil and military authorities and the Undersecretary of Justice, the Honorable Andrea Delmastro Delle Vedove, whose commitment was fundamental for the realization of this dedication. Our heartfelt thanks go to him for his presence and intervention in support of the police.
As the Undersecretary rightly pointed out, prison police officers are an example of dedication to work, sense of duty and love for their country. Their sacrifice and moral integrity represent fundamental values that we must always honor and remember.
With this dedication, the Viterbo prison also pays homage to one of the many heroes of our nation, men and women who sacrificed their lives for the common good and who must never be forgotten.”
