Gaffeo – Citizens, public debate for the run-off?

ROVIGO – To help citizens choose who to vote for in the runoff, Edoardo Gaffeo made himself available for a public discussion with the centre-right candidate in a very short time.

“Comparison is the salt of democracy, and the choice that voters are called upon to make is between two different proposals” states Gaffeo who, through his press office, asked the staff of the centre-right candidate Valeria Cittadin to be available for a public debate , in a neutral field.

“We have been informed that the answer will probably be negative – continues Gaffeo – I wait with confidence, and I hope that the answer is instead positive. It is a question of respect towards all our fellow citizens” adds the centre-left candidate, leveraging the proposals of his electoral programme, based on innovation, regeneration and culture.

“During the last term we worked tirelessly to improve our city. Numerous projects have been successfully completed and many others are ready to start thanks to the funds from the tenders already requested and approved. These projects include infrastructural interventions, improvements in public services and cultural initiatives that aim to enhance our territory and improve the quality of life of our fellow citizens.”

Speaking of his direct opponent, Edoardo Gaffeo instead highlights the superficiality of the centre-right’s electoral programme, based mostly on ordinary administrative activities which would still be managed and carried out under any flag. The substantial difference lies, the mayoral candidate Edoardo Gaffeo points out, “in the ability to go beyond mere daily management, aiming for real development and transformation of the city.

Rovigo concretely risks going back to 10 years ago, with an administration not at all inclined to change and with very fragile political balances”.

For candidate Valeria Cittadin “there was a first half, which saw us in the lead (READ ARTICLE), made up of comparisons between the candidates, meetings and debates and conferences. And I believe that those who wanted to meet us through these methods have already done so – says Cittadin – Now the second half begins, which will be different for us. We will change the point of view. We no longer want to be listened to, but to meet those who have felt excluded, those who don’t crowd theatres, those who refuse to see us on stage, because they ask to be reached in person” declares the candidate supported by Fratelli d’Italia, Valeria Cittadin list mayor, League for Salvini prime minister. Forza Italia and Action by Carlo Calenda.

“I heard that in the runoff we start from scratch. I do not agree. The choices expressed at the polls by thousands of voters and the commitment of many candidates count and must be valued, even if it is already convenient for some to say the opposite” concludes the candidate Cittadin.
