This morning, in the presence of the Police Commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Dr. Paolo SARTORI, a Memorandum of Understanding for the prevention and combating of cybercrimes was signed between the State Police and the Consortium of Municipalities of the Province of Bolzano, represented respectively by the Director of the Operational Center for Cyber ​​Security of the Postal Police of Trentino – Alto Adige, Deputy Police Commissioner of the State Police Dr. Alberto DI CUFFA and by the President of the Consortium, Andreas SCHATZER.

The signed agreement is part of the broader “Project for the Cyber ​​Security of Italian Municipalities – PRO-C2SI”, as a direct implementation of the framework agreement between the State Police and ANCI of July 2023, signed by the Chief of Police – Director General of Public Security and the President of ANCI.

The protocol provides for the commitment to adopt common intervention procedures and a constant exchange of information for the protection of digital infrastructures and databases managed by the South Tyrolean municipal administrations as well as the organization of training sessions dedicated to technicians – for a better and more ready capacity for first intervention and immediate reporting to the territorial Operations Centers in the event of attacks – and to the management and managerial framework of the Municipalities, in order to raise the level of awareness of the risks to which local authorities may be exposed.

The Consortium of Municipalities of the Province of Bolzano, as the territorial representation of the ANCI, looks after the interests of all the South Tyrolean municipalities and communities and of the Social Services Company of Bolzano and carries out diversified tasks such as political representation, consultancy and assistance of its members, the agreement on local finance, the representation of employers in collective staff agreements and numerous others. Furthermore, this body carries out secretarial and legal consultancy activities for the Council of Municipalities for the purposes of evaluating the bills of the Provincial Council and the regulations of the Provincial Council of Bolzano.

The signing of today’s protocol represents a significant stage in the synergistic process of collaboration between the public and private sectors for the construction of a system of sharing knowledge and diversified but convergent professional experiences, with the aim of constantly improving the services provided to the public. users and to protect the safety of production activities in the face of the multiple and insidious risks that involve the professional use of new communication technologies.
