Naples, attacked in front of his children because he says no to the illegal parking attendant: “He wanted 50 euros”

Beaten to death by an illegal parking attendant in front of his three children. Scenes of unprecedented violence took place in Clear sea two evenings ago when a man arrived from the province of Caserta to Naplesdared to rebel against a parking illegal who had asked him 50 euros for parking his car in a private area.

The victim of the attack reported the incident to the deputy of the Green-Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelliwhich for some years has been engaged in a real crusade against the phenomenon of parking attendants who carry out their activity illegally and without any respect for the rules: «We need prison for these criminals – thunders the parliamentarian – as well as for all illegal workers of violent parking and Camorra methods”.

The fact

A quiet evening out for dinner turned into a nightmare for a couple from Caserta who arrived in Naples with their three children, who the day before yesterday were attacked by an illegal parking attendant for having opposed the parking racket’s request, which was increased compared to the initial request of 1000%. The father of the family, who is currently hospitalized in Aversa hospital, where he will have to undergo surgery, given that the diagnosis is clear: a head injury, a broken finger, a bad eye and temporarily out of service, told what happened.

He himself reconstructs those terrible moments: «On Wednesday we had decided with my wife and my children to go to dinner in a local in Marechiaro – he explains – Once I got there with the car, an illegal parking attendant immediately approached me and allowed me to enter the car inside a private area delimited by a gate”. At a certain point, during the evening, the valet reached the customer at the table: «He asked me to take the car away, as the gate would be closed in a few minutes. So I followed him and once I reached my car he told me that the cost for parking was no more than 5 euros as expected, but 50 euros». Faced with the risky request, the victim’s wife intervened, telling the parking attendant that the maximum number could be 10.

«He pushed her and slapped her. I promptly intervened but that man beat me savagely and I fell hitting my head on the car.” But the violence did not stop: even once he was on the ground, the parking attendant continued to kick the other man ferociously in the face. «I feel very bad, but what makes me most angry is that my three children had to witness this unprecedented violence. Despite the screams, no one helped us, probably out of fear and connivance with the subject criminal».

The complaint

It was the victim’s testimony that was collected Borrelli: «This is yet another criminal episode that could have turned into a tragedy. We will work to ensure that this criminal, as reported by the attacked, ends up in prison. Do those who fiercely defend these scoundrels, calling them “poor family men who make do to put bread on the table”, still have the courage to speak or have they hidden their heads in the sand? They are extortionists – urges the deputy – very often at paid by the clans and resort to violence and Camorra methods to get payment for the racket. Yet to date the government has not accepted our proposal to introduce criminal offenses for illegal parking. The citizens, however, are supporting our battle and we must win it”, concluded Borrelli.
