Three hundred requests for help – 275 the exact figure – last year in Como from women victims of violence. Most of these have dependent children. The data from Telefono Donna Como are yet another proof of the growth in cases of violence and of the need to never let our guard down on the fight against these crimes but also on prevention. The Como administration is focusing on this last aspect, having organized two professional training courses for the work support of women victims of violence. The courses are organized by the CFP and financed by the Provincial Foundation of the Comasca Community and on the recommendation of the territorial network that deals with assistance to women victims of violence.
Today in the Municipality of Como the presentation of both professional paths. The first “Smart Pastry” course – in which the techniques of the confectionery sector will be learned – will start on Monday 17 June. It involves 100 hours – 20 of theory and 80 of practice – in which ten women will participate. At the end of the course, certificates will be issued for entry into the working world. The other “Smart bar” path, for the bar and café sector, will start in autumn. At the end of the courses, the women who participated will be followed by tutors for access to the world of work, through professional internships or job opportunities.
