Extraordinary maintenance work on the Italian Railway Network (Company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group) between Castelnuovo Garfagnana and Aulla Lunigiana on the Lucca – Aulla Lunigiana line from 17 June to 6 September 2024. In the section between the Camporgiano and Piazza al Serchio stations, consolidation interventions will be carried out on the Rio Cavo tunnel and the Rio Cavo bridge. Between Aulla and Minucciano the works will concern the viaduct over the Rio Tassonaro. In Castelnuovo Garfagnana work will continue for the creation of the new general station plan. Some hydrogeological risk mitigation interventions will also be carried out, as well as maintenance interventions on various metal bridges. Checks will also be carried out along the entire line on the state of the vegetation present near the railway infrastructure. RFI’s construction sites will involve more than 100 technicians and workers from RFI and from contracting and subcontracting companies, with the use of numerous construction vehicles. The overall value of the investment amounts to approximately 10 million euros. Changes to the circulation of regional trains between Lucca and Aulla Lunigiana to allow maintenance activities. From Monday 17 June to Friday 6 September 2024, rail traffic between Castelnuovo Garfagnana and Aulla Lunigiana will be suspended. Where possible, a bus service is provided between the two locations. The seats available on buses, which will increase their travel times also in relation to road traffic, may be lower than the normal service offered. It is therefore advisable to consider replanning your trip.Bikes are not permitted on buses and animals are not permitted with the exception of guide dogs.
