Marenco elected to the presidency of Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte The entrepreneur from Acqui is already president of Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria. She will be supported by the deputies Natalia Bobba and Federica Busso
Michela Marenco, entrepreneur from Strevi and former president of Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria, was elected by acclamation to the presidency of Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte for the next four years. The appointment took place during the annual meeting held on 12 June at the Tenuta San Lorenzo of Milena and Corrado Cazzulo, in Novi Ligure. Marenco succeeds Paola Maria Sacco, now president of Confagricoltura Alessandria, who has led the Piedmontese entrepreneurs for the last six years.
Alongside the new president, with the role of vice-presidents, were elected Natalia Bobba, the first woman to hold the position of president of the national Risi body, and Federica Busso.
The board of directors will include Elena Bonelli (Cuneo), Maria Rosa Carlevaro (Alessandria), Gabriella Fantolino (Turin), Maddalena Francese (Vercelli), Maria Pia Lottini (Asti), Paola Maria Sacco (Alessandria), Mariella Robasto (Vercelli).
Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte was one of the first associations of women entrepreneurs born within Confagricoltura, with the aim of protecting and promoting the participation of women in the agricultural sector.
There are around 200 thousand women-owned companies in Italy. In Piedmont there are over 94 thousand, equal to 22.4% of the total agricultural businesses.
“It is our commitment to continue to encourage the establishment of women at the helm of agricultural companies and to strongly support generational turnover. Women and young people are capable of looking to the future, of innovating but also of putting values, such as solidarity, at the center of their action”, said Michela Marenco in thanking the assembly for the new role. “Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte has always made collaboration between associations, both regionally and beyond the Piedmontese borders, a strong point. It is my intention to continue on this path, because I am firmly convinced, and with me the entire board, that together we can go much further”.
Among the activities which saw the collaboration of the territories and which will continue in the future, the Clementine Anti-Violence campaign and the interregional meeting with Confagricoltura Donna Lombardia and Confagricoltura Donna Emilia Romagna were mentioned. Furthermore, from this year, in addition to the already consolidated collaboration with Soroptimist International for the Clementine campaign, Confagricoltura Donna’s action will see collaboration with FIdapa.
At the end of the regional assembly, work continued for the Alexandrian associates. It was also a year full of events for the members of Confagricoltura Alessandria, such as the series of meetings “A thousand shades of… flowers”, which took place in Acqui, and participation in the Il Giardino degli Ulivi di Alessandria project.
The councilor for equal opportunities of the Municipality of Novi Ligure Rachida Hasbane was also present at the meeting and brought greetings from the municipal administration.
