the State University of Brescia is among the most effective universities in generating job opportunities for its graduates

The new edition of the AlmaLaurea report published yesterday at a national level confirms that graduates of the State University of Brescia find work more easily than the regional and national average.

Thanks to the degree courses obviously, but also to the productive fabric. «These results – underlines the rector of the UniBs, Francesco Castelli -, together with the increase in the percentage of graduates who consider the qualification obtained useful for their working career, confirm the strategic choices of our university and reward the quality of the educational offering aimed at best preparing our students”.

Going into detail, the survey on the employment situation carried out as every year by the inter-university consortium founded in Italy in 1994 involved a total of 4,454 graduates from the University of Bresciacomparing the employment results with those of 77 other Italian universities that are part of the network.

The data focuses on the analysis of the performances of first and second level graduates who graduated in 2022 and interviewed one year after graduation and on those of second level graduates who graduated in 2018 and interviewed after five years.
Well, one year after obtaining the qualification, the employment rate (all those engaged in a paid, work or training activity are considered employed) of three-year graduates from Brescia is 89% approximately, significantly higher than the regional (79%) and national average (75.7%). 46% of employed people can count on a permanent employment contract, while 23% on a fixed-term employment contract. 13.5% instead carry out their own business (as a freelancer, self-employed worker, entrepreneur, etc.). Part-time work involves 8% of employed people. The salary is on average 1,610 euros net per month.

But there’s more. Nearly four out of five graduates consider the title to be very effective or effective for the work they do.
As regards second level graduates (i.e. those who have obtained a master’s degree), one year after graduation the employment rate is equal to 88%, higher than the regional average of 81% and the national average of 76%. 29% of employed people can count on a permanent employment contract while 12% on a fixed-term employment contract. 17% run their own business. The salary is on average 1,680 euros net per month. Five years after graduation, the employment rate is close to 95% (90% in the region, 88% nationally). Those employed with a permanent contract are 52%, while those employed with a fixed-term contract are 6%. 19% run their own business. Salaries reach an average of 1,984 euros net per month.

Also in this case, almost 70% of those interviewed by AlmaLaurea researchers declare that they use the skills acquired at university to a high extent in their work. 66.5% of graduates work in the private sector, while 33.2% work in the public sector; 0.2% work in the non-profit sector. The services sector absorbs 70.8%, while industry accounts for 29% of those employed; the share of those working in the agricultural sector is zero.
