Reply to Dorigotti’s statements: “We are not aiming for seats”. The alignment, announced immediately after the first round, that Officina Comune made with Giulia Robol’s coalition was not enough, interpreted by many voters and electors as a “betrayal” compared to what was announced several times during the electoral campaign, today the former candidate for mayor Michele Dorigotti announces “We are not aiming for seats”.
Well, this declaration does not come by chance but follows the articles of the last few days with the whole council which obviously represents the real test of the newly elected mayor, grappling with the legitimate expectations of the parties who supported her from the first moment and who then, after the first round, they were weakened by the agreement with Officina Comune, the PD losing 4 councilors and 2 out of 5 Campobase with the outgoing councilor Previdi thrown out, without forgetting the anything but tender tones of Dorigotti in election campaign. It is more than obvious that Officina will be able to ask for 2 departments with 15% of the vote, the second force of the coalition, ahead of Campobase and Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra. But there are a maximum of 7 seats on the council, in addition to the mayor, so how can we also satisfy the autonomists of Gamberoni and Rovereto Libera now represented in the council by Waseem Asghar?
Dorigotti’s exit is clearly agreed with the mayor after all the hypotheses accredited two departments for Officina and also the role of deputy mayor for the “prodigal son” Dorigotti: this means, however, that the Democratic Party or another of the allies lose the department. Better to make Dorigotti say that they have never asked for seats, so Officina Comune will be satisfied with just one and in this way I can satisfy the others too. So two councilors in the Democratic Party, in addition to the mayor: who will be sacrificed between Miorandi, Cossali and the secretary Fait, who is third in terms of preferences anyway? Only one for Officina Comune, which due to the numbers and the support in the second round would certainly be entitled to two, and they lived happily ever after… who knows about him.
Regarding the possible appeal by Sovereign and Popular Democracy against the interpretation of the Trentino-Alto Adige Region on the assignment of 21 councilors out of 32 to the coalition of the elected mayor, the “We Rovereto Lui Sindaco” list also supports the need to clarify the sooner, sharing the opinion that assigning 65% of the councilors to the majority instead of the 60% required by law is absolutely penalizing for the democratic functioning of the civic assembly itself: assigning 20 to the majority and 12 to the minorities would easily guarantee governability and restore a greater decision-making power not only for the entire Council but also for the majority councillors, guaranteeing a lower imbalance which is absolutely evident today.
