Neighborhood councils, applications for the creation of availability registers are now underway

Until July 31st it will be possible to submit your application to the registers of availability to hold the position of neighborhood councilor. After the approval of the Regulation by the City Council, the process for the formation of the ten neighborhood councils proceeds, territorially based participation bodies that will give a voice to the citizens who reside in the relevant neighborhoods.

As required by the Regulation, each neighborhood council will be made up of 12 members. Of these, 9 will be elected by the municipal council by secret ballot, choosing them from the relevant availability register. Three will instead be chosen from among the members of the respective neighborhood network table, which will be established with a subsequent public notice.

«The process, which we care a lot about, for the establishment of neighborhood councils has entered the operational phase – explains the councilor for participation Matteo Tosetto -. In fact, these are new participation bodies that will provide a boost to our administrative activity in the coming years. As indicated in the mandate lines, contact with the territory represents a priority for us. From today to 31 July, therefore, citizens can apply and make themselves available to the community in which they live. Once collected and verified, the applications will be brought to the City Council for the election of the 9 councilors of each neighborhood council. The notice will follow for the establishment of network tables in which associations, committees and entities that make up the social fabric of the neighborhoods will be able to participate.”

There will therefore be 10 availability registers, one for each neighborhood council, i.e. Centro Storico, Monte Berico; Araceli, Santa Lucia, San Francesco, Sant’Andrea; San Pio X, Stadium, Borgo Berga, Casale; Campedello, Santa Croce Bigolina, San Pietro Intrigogna, Debba, Longara; Sant’Agostino, Railwaymen, Pillory; San Lazzaro, San Giuseppe, SS. Happy and Lucky; Maddalene, Santa Bertilla, Village of the Sun; Polegge, San Paolo, San Bortolo, Laghetto; Anconetta, Ospedaletto, Saviabona; Bertesinella, Bertesina, Settecà, Stanga.
