The value of exports from the Marche region in the first quarter of 2024 was affected by the decline (-55.5%) in pharmaceutical, chemical, medicinal, botanical items compared to the exceptional peak of the first quarter of 2023 (8,066.0 million euros), which has now returned to higher values. line with those recorded in recent years (and which have fluctuated between 2,750 million euros up to 3,970 million euros).

In the period January-March 2024, in a year-on-year comparison, net of pharmaceuticals, the decline in foreign trade was 2.6%, in line with the trend of the country which recorded a decline of 1.1%.

If transport and automotive performed well (one recorded +150%, the other +64% on the first quarter of 2023) there was a decline in fashion and footwear (-6.3% TAC), a sector which until December last year had contributed favorably to the trend growth of our exports, a fact that requires consideration.

Our entrepreneurs, who have strenuously resisted in these complex years and who are asserting themselves at Pitti while waiting for the autumn fairs, are beginning to feel the effects of the difficult and continuing economic situation and need the institutional supply chain that can compactly support them: Camera Marche continues to do the its part also through the action of the dedicated Special Agency LINEA, for example through the proposal of the fair tender for this year too: 800,000 euros are already available for expenses relating to the trade fair events of the first half of the year, and a new tender is underway of publication for the fairs of the second half of the year for which the Chamber of Commerce has again requested co-financing from the Marche Region.
