MUSEUMS OF ANCIENT ART – Saturday 15 June 2024 at 11:00 in via Camposabbionario 1

On the occasion of European Days of Archaeology, Saturday 15 June 2024 at 11:00the Art Museum Service of the Municipality of Ferrara organizes a free guided tour of the Civico Lapidario, in via Camposabbionario 1 in Ferrara.

During the visit it will also be possible to directly observe the restoration operations which are involving some epigraphs preserved in the space which testify to the Roman presence in the Po delta area between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD and the collecting history of the Ancient Art Museums.

The ongoing restorations are the result of an important collaboration between the Municipality and the University of Bologna, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage Course – Ravenna Campus, with the support of the Ferrara cultural associations: Ferrariae Decus, Soroptimist International Club, Ambassador Club Ferrara, FIDAPA Ferrara and the Association of Friends of Ferrara Museums and Monuments, united for the conservation of the city’s heritage.

The visit will be led by Dr Francesca Acquiarchaeologist curator of the Museums of Ancient Art and by prof. Fabio Bevilacquaprofessor of the Restoration Laboratory at the Cultural Heritage Department of the University of Bologna.
