BRINDISI – Three people, including a policeman on duty in Brindisi, have been arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged attempted extortion against the owners of a gastronomy business in the Messapian capital. In prison on charges of extortion with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method Bryan Maggi and Davide Di Lena, both 34 years old; deputy inspector Ilario Zippo, 51, is under house arrest and is responsible for illegal access to the Sdi database of the police.

The three were notified of a precautionary custody order ordered by the investigating judge of the Lecce court at the request of the DDA after the investigations carried out by the police and financial police.

One of the two victims reportedly reported having been subjected to threats and the alleged extortion request of 20 thousand euros from Maggi and Di Lena. The same victim would have turned to the policeman under investigation to receive information on a series of people, already known to the police, to intervene in his defense after the threats.
From the investigative activity it emerges that in the past the policeman would have accessed the database, not for official reasons.
