Leonardo Pavoletti renews his contract with Cagliari La Nuova Sardegna

Cagliari Cagliari Calcio has renewed the contract with the player Leonardo Pavoletti who has signed a new agreement with the Club until 30 June 2026. Livornese by birth, Cagliaritan by adoption, with goals scored in the hearts of the fans. Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2017, he celebrated his first home goal for the rossoblù in the 2-1 victory against Benevento. A goal scored at the end of time, decisive, like “Pavoloso” will be in Cagliari. Again at the end of that same championship – the club continues to say on the website – it was his goal against the “Franchi” in Florence (0-1) that gave the three fundamental points for securing salvation. In the following season he scored 18 goals and made his debut with goals for the national team. He is still a protagonist in the 2020-21 season, always scoring in key matches: away against Crotone (0-2), in the home victory against Parma (4-3) and again against Benevento, in the direct clash at Vigorito” won 3-1. 189 matches have been played so far for the rossoblù, among the 49 goals scored, the one on 11 June 2023 at the “San Nicola” in Bari is already engraved in history: playoff final, strike in the 94th minute which is worth the reconquest of the top flight and sends a people in ecstasy. Prowess, iconic goals, like those that Pavoletti has repeated this season, author of a brace – scoring in the 94th and 96th minutes – for the comeback victory at the Unipol Domus against Frosinone (from 0-3 to 4- 3). And again the three-point bicycle kick goal – again in injury time – to complete another comeback against Sassuolo (1-2). Technical and moral qualities, leadership, charisma on the pitch and in the dressing room, strong attachment to the shirt and the island: Cagliari and its captain move forward together.
