A quiet evening with friends turned into a violent nightmare on the night of Sunday 9 June, when a young man was brutally attacked near a bar in Monza. Around 03:10, the Operations Center of the Police Headquarters of Monza and Brianza received an emergency call reporting a boy lying on the ground and covered in blood following one violent quarrel.

The State Police crews intervened promptly on the spot, immediately starting to reconstruct the facts and search for the culprit. The victim, together with a group of friends, was sitting at the bar tables having a beer when it happened approached by a young foreign citizen. The latter, initially, he had asked if anyone had any narcotic substance to give him, but when the answer was negative he walked away.

A few minutes after, the young man has returned to the group asking again to be able to buy a different drug. To the second negative answer, the situation degenerated into a violent argument. The attacker picked up a beer bottle, broke it on the ground and started to threaten the victim by pointing him in the facethen hit him repeatedly in the back with vehemence. Not happy, the attacker walked away once again to return armed with a iron baseball batwith which he tried to hit the victim again before finally fleeing.

Thanks to the initial information collected, the State Police managed to trace the identity of the alleged attacker, a 26-year-old Sri Lankan regular on national territoryAnd. The officers tracked him down at his home, finding the handrails and doorbell covered in blood and the man with anchor obvious blood stains on hands and clothes.

The young Sri Lankan was arrested for the crime of aggravated injuries and made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Monza for the hearing to validate the arrest. The arrest was validated and the precautionary measure of compulsory residence with home stay during the night hours was ordered for the attacker.
