arrested by the police after a few hours

FANO – They had stole a bag from a car but they had not reckoned with the local military: after a few hours they were blocked and arrested. Getting in trouble three men aged between 34 and 49, two residents in Reggio Emilia and one from the province of Rome.

The events took place in the early evening of Tuesday in the Fano Center parking lot, in via Einaudi in Bellocchi. It was around 8.30pm when a lady, an animal lover, stopped to give food in a bowl to the cats in the area. An action that is often carried out by the woman who, in order not to disturb the customers, distributes the libations to the felines in a secluded place.

During the operation, which was actually very quick, the lady left the car open and the bag placed on the passenger seat. The gamble did not go unnoticed by the three who were aboard a Nissan Juke: one of them suddenly got out of the car, he grabbed the bag containing cash, phone and credit cards and the three quickly disappeared in the vehicle.

The woman, having returned to the car, immediately realized that she had been robbed and gave the alarm to 112: as fate would have it, she was nearby a patrol of the Carabinieri of the Fano Company under the command of Captain Maximiliano Papale. The military, thanks to the information collected, especially regarding the car in which the three were travelling, set out on their trail and, in a matter of hours, managed to locate them inside a fast food restaurant: stopped, they admitted their responsibilities. A device for reading ATM codes and another stolen mobile phone were also found inside the vehicle. The arrest was validated yesterday by the judge: the three were also banned from staying in the province.
