There are around a hundred events scheduled from mid-June to the end of September in Legnano, including shows for children, concerts, meetings and films in the different neighborhoods of the city, and some festivals as part of the programming of “La Bella Estate” .
As stated in a note, this year too the set of summer events follows the scheme adopted in previous editions, numerically enhancing the offer of events which range from the center to the suburbs, touching on Piazza San Magno, the courtyards of Palazzo Malinverni, the Sala Ratti and the Castle, the “Sutermeister” museum, the libraries of via Cavour and Mazzafame, the Pertini center, the Alpine hut, the park of via Sardegna and the ex Ila park where, on Sunday 23 June, as part of the initiatives for the Centenary of Legnano Città, the hundred years of the inauguration of the “Regina Elena” Sanatorium will be celebrated.
“La Bella estate” 2024 presents events in continuity with the programming of previous years and new proposals. Among the first, the traditional film festival “Ciak d’estate”, twenty-one screenings in the courtyard of the Ratti room by Cooperativa Cineproposta from 28 June to 17 August; the readings of the Canti della Commedia al Castello, curated by Professor Gianni Vacchelli, who will also hold two literary meetings in the library park; the Night in the Center on Friday 21 June; the musical concerts which will have their main stage at the Visconti Castle, but which will also see the spaces of the Baita degli Alpini in the Canazza district used for the first time; the benefit concert “Opera di Solidarietà, Saturday 29 June in the courtyard of Palazzo Malinverni; Chapter 20025, third edition of the day dedicated to local authors and artists in the park of the library in via Cavour. Also in continuity with previous years is the program of events at the Pertini Center in Mazzafame, which offers concerts and musical shows on Saturday evenings and culminates, on the weekend from 6 to 8 September, in the District Festival.
Also confirmed are the two new features of the last edition of “La Bella Estate”, the BiblioNote review, the Thursday evening events based on music, art and books in the Library Park in via Cavour, co-planned with the BiblioGiovani group and the Civil Service volunteers , and “La Bella Estate dei bambini”, twelve events in the different neighborhoods of the city for the little ones including theatrical performances, animated readings, treasure hunts and workshops.
The new features of the 2024 edition are represented by “The culture of Peace in a world of wars”, a series of meetings on the theme of Peace; the Urban Festival of Sustainability, Saturday 29 June, with stands, workshops, zero-emission music, debates, art and books on the key theme of our times; the walks around the city “Walking in the Renaissance” and “Walking along the river”, which will be offered several times during the summer; “Pop up”, the social and cultural entertainment project in the courtyards of the Aler houses in via Carlo Porta and Bissolati in the last weekend of September. Of note, for the “Author’s Evening”, Monday 24 June in the library park, is the presentation of the book “Dentro il Palazzo” with Professor Carlo Cottarelli.
The summer program of events in Legnano includes festivals such as the Rugby Sound Festival, from 27 June to 13 July on the Castello island; the District Festival, from 6 to 8 September at the Pertini Center; the concert of the Marta Ferradini quartet of the Female Music and Words Festival “Donne in Canto” on 20 July at the Castle; the concerts “Naviganti e musicatori”, “Fool arcana” and “Infinity World Quartet” on 26 and 30 July and 24 August at the Castello which are part of JazzAltro and the two events “Omaggio a Enzo Jannacci” and “Di Franca in Franca… la comedy is woman”, of the Festival of Theatre, Music and Comedy.
All events are free with the exception of the Rugby Sound concerts and the screenings of “Ciak d’estate”, for which entry is 3.5 euros for European films, and 7 euros for foreign films.
