LEGNANO – The Legnano of the immediate future is born. The city municipal council approved the administration’s territorial governance plan at last night’s meeting, Wednesday 12 June Root. All opposition councilors were absent, as in previous sessionsin open controversy with the council’s actions.
The mayor: «The criticisms? Daughters of Envy”
«It has been a long journey, very important for the life of an administration and fundamental to be able to realize that vision of the city that unites us and makes us working together not like toy soldiers, but like many members of a boat that sails and where everyone has their role and knows what they have to do – said the mayor in his final declaration of vote (in the picture) – For me it is the third territorial government plan, from the opposition, from the majority and now from mayor. All three were very tiring. The administrations will pass, but the skills and know-how that has been created thanks to this path it will remain to the benefit of the city».
Then a dig at minorities. «For this reason I am sorry that in this whole final journey only a part of those who represent citizens through democratic institutions were present in the classroom”. «You told lies for months»
This Pgt, Lorenzo Radice reiterated, «puts into action the guiding lights of our path linked to two key words, regeneration and sustainability, around which we have built our vision of the city and on which we are working. To restart the city we fought like lions to ensure that this PGT was not approved at the end of the mandate but halfway through it, so as to still have time ahead to ensure that a whole series of energies that they have remained blocked for too long may also have the political and administrative conditions to be implemented: I am referring to the implementation plans of the transformation areas.
«We had to “unfreeze” the city, aiming for political choice soil protection, trade protection about which we have witnessed sensational lies told for months: the truth is that we reduce the trade of medium structures by 160,000 square meters sales, let’s say stop at large surfaces sales and we set up a fund to fuel neighborhood commerce. And then we will continue to push Legnano’s role as a hub city. We witnessed surreal discussions on plans like that of Franco Tosi, where we ask for few but very clear things on public utilities, making courageous choices on issues such as access to the station which have existed for a hundred years, but also the old hospital and the barracks.
«For too many decades Legnano has seen one building development that has cannibalized the public city. I don’t want to go after councilors who lecture us today and who in the 1980s voted for things that today are considered unwatchable, to say the least. We have put the public city back at the center of this Pgt, and this is it a very courageous choice».
