Work has started on the station square in Canegrate. Gruppo Cap has designed the redevelopment of the car park serving the railway station, on the corner of via 24 Maggio and via Marconi, which will be redesigned to reduce the impervious surface, optimize functionality and improve the landscape and environmental quality. The project involves the redevelopment of the car park serving the railway station, with one eye on the hydraulic needs and another on the urban and functional quality of the spaces. In particular, the intervention involves the renovation of the surface used for parking with high-drainage paving, with the creation of 199 stalls, of which 5 are reserved for people with disabilities.

The cycle/pedestrian path to reach the station will also be created, and a large rain garden will be set up to collect rain water, 44 new trees will make both parking for cars and attending the weekly market more comfortable. The intervention is part of the large Spugna Metropolitan City project, which sees Gruppo Cap engaged together with the Metropolitan City of Milan to carry out 90 interventions in 32 Municipalities thanks to the funds obtained in the Pnrr. To limit the inconvenience caused by the opening of the construction site, parking limits have been removed in some areas to allow people to find alternative parking near the station. The car parks in via Rosselli, via Garibaldi and via Redipuglia will be available without parking disc limits.
