Imola Runs with the civics: “Great results achieved”

“We will commit ourselves and be protagonists in this year’s regional elections and in future municipal elections.” Heartened by the results of the latest administrative elections, Imola Corre, the majority group represented in the city council by Alan Manara and Antonio Ussia, is already targeting the next electoral appointments.

“Once again, civility and the new experiences of civil society that are involved prove decisive for the victory of good governance – they point out from the civic list that has supported Mayor Marco Panieri’s council since 2020 –. In Emilia-Romagna the centre-left and the Democratic Party they win, reaching an absolute majority with the contribution of external civic movements”.

In the administrative elections of the district, however, according to Imola Corre “the essentiality of worlds external to the parties, involved in the individual communities, which contributed to the victories of the centre-left by rewarding the good governance of the mayors and the commitment of the candidates”, was once again confirmed.

From this perspective, again according to the civic leaders, the case of Fontanelice in the Santerno Valley is “particularly significant which, after very difficult years, confirms the outgoing mayor Gabriele Meluzzi thanks to the involvement of new figures, specifically linked to the SP33 Committee such as Stefano Colli , who in recent months had mobilized to ask for a resolution of the problems after the landslides that had severely hit the municipal area in 2023, enlargement was decisive – they continue from Imola Corre – and today Fontanelice has a competent, renewed and aware team. challenges ahead and the solutions to be pursued”.

Having said that the centre-right mayoral candidate, Vito Vecchio, has announced that he will ask for a recount of the votes in Fontanelice (he was defeated by only 16 ballots), the civic leaders relaunch their commitment which began in 2020 by speaking of “a spirit of collaboration and attractiveness towards the more virtuous civil society”.

But when will we vote for the Imola administrative elections? The term of office of a mayor is five years. And this means that a first citizen elected in 2020, as in the case of Marco Panieri, should see his mandate end in 2025. However, that vote arrived in September, rather than as usual in the spring window, as it was postponed due to Covid. And in recent months the Ministry of the Interior has already issued several opinions to various Italian Municipalities clarifying that “The renewal of the governing bodies” for towns and cities that voted in September in 2020 “will take place during the ordinary annual round of spring 2026 “.
