ALESSANDRIA – Saturday 15 June in the Alessandria hamlet of Valmadonna will be held Books & Art in the Valley. Appointment from 3pm to 9pm in the outdoor spaces of the Vittorino Da Feltre primary school in Strada Comunale 29 and in the main streets of the suburb. It will be a real “artistic-cultural marathon” with performances by painters and sculptors, book presentations, music and photography lessons, but also projects for schools and recycling workshops plus the presence of local artisans and producers. Libri&Arte in Valle presents itself as a stage for the local artistic world but with a novelty that makes the initiative unique: breaking down the barrier between the public and artists. The aim of the event, organized by the Valley Committee, is in fact engage visitors, encourage them to express their creativity by having them participate in the activities gradually proposed and interact with the artists to learn their techniques and skills.
As he pointed out Gianni Pittalugapresident of the Committee, «iIn this immersive experience the public will be able to paint (leaving a personal touch on a large canvas that will remain in memory of the day), play (under the guidance of the music maestro Mario Martinengo), take photos (with the supervision of the photographer Roberto Pestarino While Claudio Cavalli will explain the Light Painting technique), finally post the most representative images of the event a #alexandrini detective stories2 and on our Facebook page or Instagram“.
The centerpiece of the event will be the living room “Alexandrian detective stories” with three authors who will alternate in the presentation of their novels, strictly set in our province: “The perfect shot” by Pier Emilio Castoldi in fact it evokes San Salvatore Monferrato, Valmadonna and Fubine, “The chimes of evil” by Monica Gasparini has Alexandria and its hills as its backdrop, as does the latest effort by Stefano Caselli entitled “Until your soul burns”. Inside the living room there will also be space for the creative writing educational workshop with students from the schools and after-school programs of San Michele, curated by the writer Bruno Volpi.
A long-awaited moment will be the inauguration of a work characterized by creativity and imagination: it is the large mural created in recent weeks by the children of Valmadonna along the wall of the pedestrian underpass in the center of the suburb, the result of the collaboration of parents, teachers and trainers. There are also scheduled events on the day workshops aimed at good practices (for example paper recycling) and artisanal activities (the beer and honey production process).
Libri&Arte in Valle is actually the first event of a festival that will last all summer and will see theater evenings, performances and film screenings take place in the same spaces: in the rooms on the ground floor of the school building the Valle Library will be operational from 22 June to 18 August, opening on Saturdays (10am-12pm) and on Sundays ( 5-7.30pm), where the traditional loan of books is accompanied by a rich calendar of author presentations. The Valley Committee thanked local artists, artisans and producers who, with their contribution of ideas and their availability, made the initiative possible.
