Legnano Calcio between shares seized and the agreement for the management of the Mari stadium expiring

What future for Legnano Calcio? The question has been bouncing around the city for weeks, if not months, and goes well beyond the relegation to Excellence put in black and white by the 5-0 inflicted on the Lilacs by Castellanzese. The latest tile arrived – or rather, became public domain – these days, with the seizure of company shares from president Enea Benedetto ordered by the GIP of the Court of Alessandria.

Seizure which dates back to the first half of May, but which – however the related criminal proceedings go – inevitably calls into question at least the permanence of Legnano Calcio at the Mari stadiumthe result of an agreement expiring at the end of June for which at the moment it seems difficult to talk about renewal: it is impossible, in fact, to hypothesize at the moment that the lilac presidency could sit at the table with Palazzo Malinverni for the extension, at least until the problem is resolved procedural.

What is certain is that at the moment the management of the pitch is the only lever for the municipal administration to influence the Legnano Calcio “affair”: «Recently, as in the past, we have always facilitated contacts in the event of the entry of new members or potential buyers, also because president Benedetto has always publicly declared that he is available to evaluate these hypotheses – explains the sports councilor Guido Bragato -. We want Legnano Calcio, if there is a Legnano Calcio that can contract relationships with the public administration, it should have the stadium available and games there, naturally following all the necessary checks and verifications”.

While waiting to focus on the possible developments of the corporate affair, the certainty is that In any case, the Mari stadium will not be left to its fate if the agreement expires without renewal: in this case the Municipality will take over the management of the facility and will be responsible for resurfacing the turf post Palio, which for the first time according to the agreement should have been taken care of by the company with reimbursement from the Municipality. «Where they don’t do it, we will do it – assures Bragato –, obviously with the reimbursement money».
