TREVISO – An out-of-control tanker breaks through the fence of a house and hits a gas control unit and a camper parked in the garden. Only by a pure miracle were there no injuries. The only person hospitalized is the driver of the truck, who fell ill while driving the heavy vehicle along the Castellana. The man, a 50-year-old Italian, was transferred to the emergency room at Ca’ Foncello. His condition is good. The accident occurred today 12 June in Treviso.
The dynamics
The truck was inside a parking lot when it moved and ended up in the courtyard of the house against a camper parked in front of the building. A gas meter was also damaged. The firefighters who rushed from the headquarters made the vehicle safe and stopped the methane leak until the gas network technicians intervened. The driver was taken into care by Suem healthcare personnel and transferred to hospital for further checks. The local police were on site to investigate the accident. The firefighters’ rescue operations ended after about an hour.
