On 13 and 14 June, as part of the Green Med Expo&Symposium, in collaboration with Ecomondo and Ricicla Tv, the States General on the Environment (2024 edition), promoted by the Campania Region. The event will take place inside the historic setting of the Mostra D’Oltremare of Naples.

The underlying objective is to illustrate the new green and environmental sustainability initiatives promoted in Campania; many debates are planned, where administrators, companies, experts and enthusiasts will discuss.

The initiatives and the program

Among the great innovations of the initiative, on June 13th at 4.00 pm, the project “Villages Health and Wellbeing“, a program aimed at enhancing the great heritage of villages, internal areas and small municipalities in the Campania region. Participating in the meeting, moderated by the journalist and writer Claudia Conte, will be Felice Casucci, Regional Councilor for Tourism; Stefano Pisani; Mayor of Pollica and Coordinator of small municipalities ANCI Campania; Angela Tibaldi, Vice President Associated partner Culture and software economy PTS CLS SpA and Ermete Realacci, President of Symbola, Foundation for Italian qualities. The President of the Region Vincenzo De Luca closes the proceedings.

Subsequently, on 14 June at 09.30, again on the stage of the Campania Region, the results of the competition will be presented “MAREMOOVIE”, an initiative which involved various schools, with the screening of video spots made by children on the theme of water. The videos, which will be awarded by a qualified jury, are aimed at environmental valorisation and education, the protection of water resources, in particular the marine environment. Moderated by Claudia Conte, speakers will include Carmen Parisio Di Penta, General Director of MareVivo; Enza Ruggiero, President of the Schoolmovie Association; Ettore Acerra, Director of the Regional School Office and Lucia Fortini, Regional Councilor for Schools.

In the afternoon, at 4.00 pm, it will then be possible to attend a meeting dedicated to the urban waste management system in Italy and the Campania Region. The intent of the panel is to represent the work carried out by the Region in recent years, giving particular importance to the investments made both in terms of financial resources and on the innovative technological choices envisaged on the treatment plants. Speakers will include Giovanni Perillo, President of the Campania section Hydrotechnical Association; Rocco Martello, CEO and Founder of OWAC srl Engineering Company; Domenico Ruggiero, Director of SAPNA. SpA and Antonio Perretta, General Director of Waste Cycle – RC). The closure will be entrusted to the Vice President of the Campania Region Fulvio Bonavitacola and the Deputy Minister of the Environment and Energy Safety Vannia Gava interviewed by Rai journalist Francesca Coppola.

Finally, during the event the “Avenue of Sustainability“, an illustrative space dedicated to the many techniques for recycling waste collected separately: plastic, paper and wood first and foremost.
