“We are made of the same stuff as dreams”, said Shakespeare in “The Tempest”, maintaining that even thunder and lightning are part of the same process. Music is a dream, the future is a dream, aspirations are dreams. After all, so is “The city of beauty” which last year the students of the dance school of the Marche Foundation “Art in dance” of Ancona, from the smallest to the largest, brought onto a stage. So why not “discover the cards”?
In this 2024, after a lot of work, more than the conclusion of an academic year tout court, “Dreams, elements of an art”, it will be a real show of high technical and interpretative level which will be performed on Saturday 15 June at 8.30 pm at the Teatro Sperimentale of Ancona. With a first part composed of pieces from the classical repertoire, through the interpretations of the students of the master with the teacher Alessia Barberini, former prima ballerina of the Rome Opera and which will end with the delivery of certificates of participation to all the students, it will be possible attend a great classical dance performance with “La Bayadere” by Minkus, the second act of “The Kingdom of Shadows”, again from “La Bayadere”; “Sleeping Beauty” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with the pieces “The Canary Fairy” and “Precious Stones”; and finally “The Spanish Dance” from “Swan Lake”, also by Tchaikovsky.
In the show there will then be a space dedicated to the “nursery” of the “Art in Dance” Foundation, quite full of stubborn and willing children, aged three and a half and up, who will be the dancers of tomorrow. For them, to ensure they receive the right amount of applause, the choreographer Debora Barontini has created choreographies inspired by the world of play which highlight the light-heartedness of the little ones, to help adults rediscover it too, not just children who authenticity of simple things is the foundation of life, happiness and dreams.
It will then be the turn of Eugenia Morosanu, artistic director of the regional Art in Dance Foundation of Ancona, who has created new choreographies for her students that will focus on the winning force of music, which is vigorous and accompanied by the refined technique that Morosanu knows how to impart to her creations, will not fail to leave the entire audience speechless. And then the second part of the show which does not neglect modern, contemporary dance and hip hop. Here the four elements, water, air, earth and fire, will be combined, mixed and enhanced by the movements of the dancers.
To complete the dream show, the VisBallet company will not be missing, present to fully enhance the combination of nature and dance.
The show “Dreams, elements of an art” will be, like every year, the prelude to an intense period of initiatives to be experienced. Preparations are underway for: Art of dance competition, June 29th, an international dance competition in which young talents from all over the world will participate, judged by a jury of some of the most qualified choreographers and professionals on the world scene; International Dance Summit, a week of internships with highly prestigious teachers from all over the world, which will take place from 1st to 6th July 2024; and finally, at the end of such an intense period, the Grand Dance Gala, which will take place on 7 July at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, will be able to enchant all the audience present, with the performances of international principal dancers, among the greatest in the world.
