Italian weather, Lombardy orange and yellow alert on 13 June

The wave of rain and bad weather which has been affecting Northern Italy for the past week. For tomorrow, Thursday 13 June 2024the Civil Protection has issued a dual status of orange and yellow weather alert for rain and critical situations. Here are all the regions involved.

Bad weather in Lombardy and Northern Italy: weather warning for rain is triggered on 13 June

The Department of Civil Protection has issued a new one orange weather alert status of moderate criticality due to the risk of rain and thunderstorms on Thursday 13 June. L’orange alert was issued in Lombardy region and in the following areas: Central-Western Lowland, Eastern High Plain, Central Plain, Varesine Lakes and Prealps, Lario and Western Prealps, Bergamo Orobie, Eastern Lowland, Central-Eastern Lowland, Western Lowland, Hydraulic Hub of Milan.

Not only, rains and thunderstorms are also planned in the rest of Northern Italy where the Civil protection communicated a bulletin from yellow alert. Here are the areas and regions affected:

  • Abruzzo: Tordino Vomano Basin, Aterno Basin, Marsica Basin, Pescara Basin, Lower Sangro Basin;
  • Emilia Romagna: Central Emilian mountains, Reggio Emilia plain, Modena plain, Ferrara coast, Low Piacenza-Parma hill, Piacenza-Parma mountain, High Piacenza-Parma hill, Romagna coast, Po Reggio plain, Central Emilian hill, Bolognese plain, Low hills and plain Romagna, Bolognese mountains, Bolognese hills, High Romagna hills, Romagna mountains, Piacenza-Parma plain, Ferrara plain;
  • Lombardy: Lakes and eastern Prealps, Pavia Apennines;
  • Marche;
  • Tuscany: Etruria, Ombrone Gr-Costa, Serchio-Costa, Arno-Costa, Etruria-North Coast, Etruria-South Coast, Lunigiana, Serchio-Lucca, Versilia, Islands, Fiora and Albegna-Costa and Giglio;
  • Umbria: Chiani – Paglia, Nera – Corno, Trasimeno – Nestore, Chiascio – Topino, Medio Tevere, Alto Tevere;
  • Veneto: Lower Brenta-Bacchiglione and Fratta Gorzone, Livenza, Lemene and Tagliamento, Adige-Garda and Lessini mountains, Upper Brenta-Bacchiglione-Alpone, Po, Fissero-Tartaro-Canalbianco and Lower Adige, Piave foothills, Lower Piave, Sile and drainage basin in the lagoon.

Weather alert for hydraulic and hydrogeological risk on June 13th

There Civil protection issued for Thursday 13 June also a state of yellow weather warning for hydraulic risk in:

  • Trentino Alto Adige: Autonomous Province of Bolzano;
  • Veneto: Basso Brenta-Bacchiglione and Fratta Gorzone, Adige-Garda and Lessini mountains, Po, Fissero-Tartaro-Canalbianco and Basso Adige.

Finally, it is not to be underestimated yellow weather alert status due to hydrogeological risk issued by the Department of Civil Protection in the regions and areas:

  • Abruzzo: Tordino Vomano Basin, Aterno Basin, Marsica Basin, Pescara Basin, Lower Sangro Basin;

  • Piedmont: Turin Plain and Hills, Cuneo Plain, Belbo and Bormida, Tanaro Valley, Scrivia, Northern Plain;
  • Trentino Alto Adige: Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
