The final phase of the championship will be played on tour within the region
A truly curious story that we find in the online columns of Republic. Libya’s scudetto will in fact be decided in Tuscany in a sort of tour of our region. Six teams, a round-robin group, possible play-off in the event of a tie in the standings and a prize up for grabs, all in three stadiums: the Pisa stadium, the Empoli stadium and the Fiesole Curve at Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli from June 26th to July 9th. A decision that came after the agreement stipulated by the Italian government with the Libyan government.
As for Viola Park, “the request came to Fiorentina directly from the government, or rather from Minister Abodi, who holds Fiorentina’s sports center in very high regard. So much so that he has seen it on several occasions, just remember the visit in February 2023 with the construction sites open and the bulldozers in action, as well as the presence and words on the day of the inauguration, last October. A request that Fiorentina promptly accepted also by virtue of the excellent relations between the parties at the Curva Fiesole stadium within the Viola Park will play four matches scheduled for June 27th and 30th, and July 3rd and 6th.” The matches, however, will be played behind closed doors.
