“Are you ready for the next initiative dedicated to art and beauty?”. This is the invitation that the municipal administration of Messina is aimed at citizens to participate in the fourth day of Sunday 16 June, starting from 9.30 am “STTRETTARTME – Art tells the story of the city”an initiative of the Officina del sole promoted in synergy with the Departments of Youth Policies and Culture and Tourism and the Messina Social City with the aim of involving citizens to participate in extemporaneous events through various forms of art.

The protagonist place of the stage on Sunday 16th is Piazza Lo Sardo, former Piazza del Popolo, with churches and monuments located in the area surrounding the square to be told about by those who participate through their free artistic expression. from drawing to painting, photography to poetry.

Participating is simple: it’s free, anyone, professionals or non-professionals, of any age can participate and the watchword is freedom of expression! You just need to bring the material you need. In fact, everyone is free to describe places as they see fit through drawing, painting, photography, or poetry; once the performance is completed, he will reproduce it in photos to convey it on social media by inserting the hashtag #Strettartme, so as to be part of the community together with all the other participants. At the end, a virtual album will be created with all the entries, including videos, reels and stories that can also be created.

The invitation is addressed to everyone, not only to those who express themselves through art, but also to visitors since on this occasion it will be possible to appreciate the artistic, historical, cultural and religious heritage of the church of the Holy Spirit, the Cloister and of Father Annibale’s rooms, open from 9.30 to 11; and the church of S. Rita which can be visited from 9.30 to 10.15, and from 11.15 to 12.

The program of the day:

10 am – “Legends and mystery in Messina” with the writer Giandomenico Ruta;
11am – Cultural walk with Gianluca Castriciano “Messina in 1848”;
11am-1pm – Drawing workshop for children by the cartoonist Carmelo Chillé;
12pm – Cultural walk by the historian Daniele Ferrara “The window on history in Piazza del Popolo”.
