For a whole week, from 8 to 14 July, the city centre will be transformed into a large open-air sports field thanks to the third edition of Busto Arsizio Sportevent promoted by the association Full Heart with the collaboration of the municipal administration.

Busto Arsizio Sport is made up of three tournaments that will be played in the evening (7.00pm – 12.00am during the week and from 4.00pm to 12.00am on Saturday and from 4.00pm to 11.00pm on Sunday) in Piazza San Giovanni (5-a-side football) and Piazza Santa Maria (beach volleyball 4vs4 and basketball 3vs3).

«We are at the consecration of this event, which is a bit like our Sanremo sports festival – observed the sports councilor Maurizio Artusa – An event that unites sports, the commercial sector, solidarity and brings the center to life with young people and sports. This year we have raised the bar even higher, everything is organized in the best possible way also from a safety point of view».

New this year is the exhibition in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II of a “Cuore Pieno village”, dedicated to the little ones with inflatable equipment, ping pong table and table football, which will be open from 7pm to 11.45pm on Thursday and Friday and from 4pm to midnight on Saturday.

There are currently around 300 people registered for the tournaments, registrations were closed earlier than in previous years because the maximum number for optimal management of the calendars was reached earlier than expected, a sign of the growth of an event that last year it saw the participation of more than 280 athletes, 60 volunteers, more than 15,000 spectators for around seventy matches and 3,000 minutes of play.

And not only that: during the week, they are Meetings with personalities from the world of sport are planned who will tell their experiences, highlighting the sporting culture and the values ​​of sport, also in relation to social aspects.

Meetings are currently scheduled for Tuesday 9 July with Francesca Dallapèsilver in diving at the Rio Olympics in 2016 with Tania Cagnotto, Thursday 11 July with the Bustocchi athletes Daniel Crustthe only Busto medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in team foil, Riccardo Colombo coach of Pro Patria and former footballer, Riccardo Mainor, world champion Paralympic athlete in athletics.

Saturday 13th will be the turn of a meeting dedicated to sport and social issues with Giampietro Ghedini and Tony Bertasio of the association “Ema pesciolinoRosso”, created to support young people in difficulty, in memory of a teenager who lost his life after an overdose of narcotics.

The whole thing will have a charitable purpose: the proceeds will be donated to a project of the association Cuore pieno which aims to provide sports scholarships to children and young people whose families are in difficulty, to allow them to enroll in sports courses and activities. “We want to give others a bit of the luck that we have had without realizing it” commented the vice president of the association Giuditta Lualdiwell-known athlete of UYBA Volley Busto Arsizio.
