Found hanged in a nomad camp. Femicide hypothesis, the husband would have faked his suicide

For the death of Giusy Levacovich, found hanged yesterday in a gypsy camp in the Pistoia area, the main suspect is her husband: the man allegedly killed her and faked her suicide before fleeing and making himself unavailable for around 10 hours.

After being unavailable for almost ten hours, he finally showed up spontaneously at the police station Marco S.the husband of the 39-year-old woman, Giusy Levacovichfound dead yesterday morning, around 10, in the prefabricated house where she lived inside a nomad camp in Buggiano, in the province of Pistoia.

The woman’s body was hanging from a noose, and she apparently hanged herself. However, investigators, coordinated by the prosecutor’s office, hypothesize that it was not a suicide but a murder. In fact, from the first medico-legal investigations some signs of strangulation incompatible with those caused by the rope that the victim had wrapped around his neck. Giusy’s suicide, therefore, would have been simulated from someone.

It would have been a son of the victim who gave the alarm to 118. When the carabinieri arrived in the gypsy camp, the 39-year-old’s partner was already untraceable and so the search began immediately. Shortly before 8pm the man – Marco S., 44 years old – reached the barracks, where he was interrogated until late at night. The hypothesis of crime for which the prosecutor’s office is investigating is that of aggravated murder. The main suspect is an old acquaintance of the police because in the last fifteen years he has been arrested several times for car or house thefts carried out between Lucca, Prato and Massa.

39-year-old woman found dead in a nomad camp in Buggiano: her husband in barracks

Giusy Levacovich’s body was transported to the Pescia morgue, in view of the autopsy, while her husband was taken to the provincial command of the Pistoia force. The investigators’ hypothesis is that the murder occurred at the height of a heated argument, perhaps which erupted the evening before the discovery of the woman’s body. A crime of impulse, which the perpetrator would then, with great lucidity, attempt to disguise by trying to pass it off as a suicide, procuring a rope and simulating hanging.
