“The word of the president”, headlines the Sports newspaper.

Giuseppe Corrado: “We want to be among the football elite”.

The fact is taken, the new course of the Pisa Sporting Club is about to begin. The president of the Nerazzurri club Giuseppe Corrado was a guest on 50 Canale last night, speaking extensively on many topics, from the sports project to infrastructure. First, however, during the day, there were two substantial turning points, or rather a turning point and a half, for the technical guidance and sports direction. Pisa would have chosen Castagnini as a possible new manager, letting Magalini go first, thus free to reach an agreement with Bari. Giovanni Rossi and also Mattia Baldini still remain as alternatives. However, the negotiation has become complicated, because to be able to conclude Corrado he must reach an agreement with Massimo Cellino and the deal is not done yet. As reported by the Lombard press, in fact, “There is no good air between Cellino and Castagnini. The only certainty is that the president, in this case, will not leave the manager free to join Pisa”. Yesterday afternoon, however, the president of Brescia spoke again with Castagnini, trying to make him stay in Lombardy, granting him greater freedom to return to his native Reggello (Florence). The Nerazzurri management, with Corrado in the lead, will try to mediate and find an agreement with the Brescia president.

This is also why Corrado glossed over the topic: “I don’t want to spoil anything. We will reveal the names of the sporting director and coach at the right time.” The biggest step forward would instead be for Pippo Inzaghi on the bench. In fact, yesterday the latest offer from the Nerazzurri club was launched which would have met with the favor of the former Reggiana and Milan player, so much so that the coach himself would have blocked his possible new home in Barbaricina. The agreement would be very close, but finalized only once the new director has been made official. However, there is general agreement […].

The president then confirms the situation regarding the renewals: “We will buy out Barbieri, but Juventus will probably exercise the counter-buyout. However, we will not buy out D’Alessandro and Valoti, but we will return to the negotiating table”.

Corrado also addresses the topic relating to the objectives for next season, but also in the long term: “Whoever arrives will fit into an existing project. We want to be among the football elite, Pisa has the potential to do beyond Serie B. We will always try to aim high, we are not a club that likes to settle” […].
