AGRIGENTO – In the 37 Sicilian municipalities in which voting took place in conjunction with the European elections, the local elections recorded a turnout of 58.05%: 266,182 voters out of 462,281 eligible voters. In the province of Agrigento there was a vote to Alessandria della Rocca, Caltabellotta, Campobello di Licata, Naro, Racalmuto, Santa Elisabettawhere there were 20,018 voters out of 44,080 voters, i.e. 45.41%.

Caltabellotta chooses continuity with Biagio Marciante

The small community of Caltabellotta chooses continuity by rewarding the outgoing deputy mayor, Biagio Marciante, who got the better of the pharmacist Roberto D’Alberto, in the Christian Democratic Party. In Caltabellotta 2,170 people voted, equal to 60.14%. The new mayor thanked the community and dedicated the victory to his newborn daughter by giving him a small tricolor sash.

“It is not a personal victory – said Marciante – but of an entire community, of a magnificent team that supported this project every day. There are no numbers that are worth more than real support, than every hug. I continue as I always have to be of service to the community. Citizens were called to vote early after last August the Administrative Justice Council canceled the 2022 electoral round that had rewarded Antonio Pitruzzella. Vito Terrana is the new mayor, supported by the Christian Democrats and Forza Italia, who got the better of the other three candidates, obtaining 1,854 preferences. They are Antonio Pitruzzella (1,806 votes), Michele Termini (1,760) and Lillo Massimiliano Musso (114).




In Naro, Milco Dalacchi is the new mayor of the baroque city

The professor defeated the outgoing Maria Grazia Brandara and the former commissioner of the province of Agrigento Roberto Enzo Barberi. In Naro, 4,011 people voted, equal to 37.89%. The new mayor was supported by “Magica Naro”. “I didn’t expect to win – said Dalacchi – I’m sincere. My team worked well and we saw the result today. The Narese community trusted us and rewarded us. I will give priority to the abandoned suburbs.”

Lillo Bongiorno is the new mayor of Racalmuto

The new mayor succeeds the outgoing Vincenzo Maniglia who had decided not to run again. Bongiorno, a lawyer, involved in city politics for several years, got the better of Salvatore Petrotto (who came second) and Salvatore Picone. The new mayor was supported by the “The turning point for Racalmuto” list which turned out to be the most voted with over two thousand preferences.

In Racalmuto 4,847 voted, equal to 45.66%. “There is a need for collaboration – said Bongiorno – we must all work together and make ourselves available to the community. One of the first objectives will be attention to social services, to the weakest sections of the population”. Bongiorno, already yesterday evening, received the parish priest of the community Don Carmelo La Magra.

Liborio Gaziano is the new mayor of Santa Elisabetta

The president of the municipal council got the better of the outgoing Mimmo Gueli, the gap between the two candidates would have been 213 preferences. “I will open the doors of the Municipality – said Graziano – and I will dedicate myself to the problems of the citizens. We have to work a lot and above all work on depopulation.”
