Scholarships, 130 young people leaving Tuscany to study abroad

Florence, 11 June 2024 – During the summer from Tuscany they will leave approximately 130 kids to study abroad: they are young people who have just completed the training course to be able to best face the educational and training challenges in foreign countries. This was announced by Intercultura, a voluntary association that organizes and finances education programs through scholarships international school mobility explaining that if there is “a great desire for internationalisation”, there is also “the concrete economic possibility to do so: the over 1100 scholarships to cover all or part of the participation fee”.

In Tuscany, more than 60% of the winners of the competition, it is further explained, “will be able to spend a school period abroad thanks to a financial contribution (partial or total coverage of the entire participation fee) from Intercultura and from companies, institutions and foundations, which, through the fundraising activities of Fondazione Intercultura, support the educational project; among these: Prospettiva Casentino association, Intesa Sanpaolo, Giunti Psychometrics”. As for the destination, “32.5% will fly in Europe, 29.5% in Latin America, 18.5% in Canada and the United States; 11.5% in Asia, 4.5% between Australia and New Zealand and 3.5% in Africa. Canada, Argentina, United States, Dominican Republic, Brazil, France, Thailand, United Kingdom, Uruguay and South Africa are the top ten countries that will welcome the greatest number of Tuscan students”.

Furthermore, “the classic school year abroad remains the duration par excellence, chosen by almost 42% of students, while 26.5% will remain abroad for a semester and 14% for a quarter. The remaining 17, 5% will be abroad this summer for between four weeks and two months.”
