The third edition of the Piccolo Festival della Fiducia begins today, Tuesday 11 June, an initiative promoted in Pisa by the University Church of San Frediano, the Ichneutai Cultural Center and the Pellegrini bookshop. Main theme “And I, I will take care of you”, from the famous verse by Franco Battiato.
“Every day we will propose focuses on a particular perspective of care: common good and common goods, democracy, hospitality, prison conditions and restorative justice, peace, human rights, poetry and theatre” explain the organizers.
Among the guests are the former President of the Constitutional Court and former Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia and Adolfo Ceretti, criminologist and one of the leading experts in restorative justice. He will talk to them, and Tommaso Greco, Scientific Director of the Festival, will do the honours.
Again on 14 June, Boris Belenkin, Director of the Memorial library, Nobel Peace Prize winner 2022. Thursday 20 June inside the garden of the Church of San Frediano the presentation of the volume “I’m not afraid, you don’t be too” collection of writings by Aleksej Naval’nj, written between 2010 and 2024. The theater of the event will be the small square between the Church of San Frediano and the Pellegrini bookshop. “We hope” underlines Massimo Trocchi, creator and organizational director “that the Festival will be a celebration of meetings, debates and new editorial teams, a happening of the new one social friendship which we intend to pursue and encourage through our proposals”.
“The festival has grown in these three years to the point of hosting a Nobel Prize” underlines Fr. Giuseppe Trotta SJ, parish priest of San Frediano. “We try to make it increasingly interesting for the students who this year will also be present with the San Frediano choir which organized the end-of-year vigil on the theme of care and this evening they will sing at the opening of the festival”.
