THE ARTISTS WHO SIGNED THE 3 NEW GLASSES OF MESSINA BEER

Michelangelo Lacagninaspecialized as an Interior art Designer, expresses the warmth and poetry of Sicilian everyday life through full-bodied brushstrokes dense with color and brightness in the decoration of the glass dedicated to Enna. The artist was inspired by Villa Romana del Casaleof which he extrapolated a garland of ivy leavesa branch of laurel foliage and of acanthusre-proposing the sinuosity of the scrolls and some spirals with the usual berries. He also gave scrupulous attention to geometric constructions of the medallions and rosettes that follow one another in each mosaic decoration and which are represented in several edges of the body of the glass. The proposed composition develops a real story: simply by rotating the glass you can relive the wonderful mosaic work of the Villa, an excellent example of the artistic culture of Sicily.

Alessandra Penninoborn in Agrigento and with a past as a painter, has made of nature and of culture his sources of inspiration are Sicilian. He thus based the design of the glass dedicated to Agrigento on the study of the shape of the almond treesearching compositional harmony between the intertwining of its branches and the stylization of its flower. The result is a succession of sinuous and decorative elements that create a floral frame whose flowers are just hinted at with small strokes of color. A drawing that was created to depict the Sicilian spring, as the artist’s eyes see it: delicate, joyful and at the same time elegant. The choice of colors recalls the Mediterranean heat which, blending with the bright yellow of the beer, they remember the sea, The clear sky and the bright sun.

Valerio Pirronewho discovered a passion for art and drawing the human body as a child, took inspiration for his creation from one of the best preserved castles in the province of Caltanissetta, the Mussomeli Castle, built between 1300 and 1400 and decorated in Chiaramonte Gothic style. The zigzag moldings and large pointed arches are typical, also shown on the front of the glass design.
