«There is great satisfaction – said Ricci –. In recent years I have felt thelast of the Mohicans, but I knew that defending Pesaro meant defending the Marche and our ability to restart. I am very satisfied with the result in Pesaro, because winning once again shows not only that Biancani he is the strongest and most popular, successful and authoritative candidate, but he demonstrates that in the city there has been an excellent judgment on the administrative experience and on the outgoing government. I tried to serve my people as best as I could and this result heartens me. And then the broad alliance that allowed us to win in the first round. In his long speech Ricci also attacked the Regional Democratic Party: «Great result despite the spite. I say this so that it serves as a hope for the future. The management of the campaign for the European elections could have been better, I use a euphemism, having had three candidates from the Marche region for the European elections was a big mistake, not for the three candidates, all reputable, but a small region like the Marche cannot have three candidates if it wants to be competitive. Being spiteful produces negative effects regardless of the spite you make, and I consider it a mistake. Just as I consider it a mistake not to understand that we needed, in this electoral campaign, to polarize the political match between us and Acquaroli. Finally Ricci has renewed the challenge to president Acquaroli, avoiding the question about his role in the next Regional elections: «I renew the challenge to him, he ran away during the election campaign, now that I am a European parliamentarian I would like to confront him, and not with Ciccioli, with whom I will fly many times, on what serves the Marche. Don’t ask me questions about the next Regionals, I won’t answer. A serious party like I have in mind will work united and open from today when the time comes will decide what resources to deploy to win the match.”
