BUGGIANO (PISTOIA) – A 39-year-old woman was found dead in a nomad camp in Buggiano, in the province of Pistoia in the late morning today, 11 June 2024. The death currently appears to have unclear contours and it cannot be ruled out that it could be a feminicide.
The police are investigating the dynamics and cause of death. The search is underway for her husband, who apparently is not present in the nomad camp. From initial information, the woman was strangled. The Carabinieri are looking for witnesses and people informed about the facts and the affair is raising tensions in the nomadic community of the camp who have settled in Buggiano for years.
UPDATE AT 8.15 PM
The victim’s name was Giusy Levacovich. The husband, after having disappeared for the entire day, spontaneously showed up at the police station in the evening. The interrogation is underway.
