Friday 14 June inaugurates ‘Faenza, Faïence, bicycles towards the Tour de France’

After the opening on Saturday 8 June, with great public interest over the weekend, Friday 14 Juneat 6 pm, he will come inaugurated officially ‘Faenza, Faïence, bicycles towards the Tour de France’, the exhibition at Palazzo del Podestà which displays the bikes of Romagna cycling champions, their jerseys and much other unpublished material.

The initiative was organized to welcome him historic passage of the second stage in Italy of the 111th edition of the Tour de France which will cross the city and the heart of Faenza on Sunday 30 June.

Also on display is one selection of ‘two wheels’, coming from the private collection of Vincenzo Collinalinked to the world of work and those used in the period between the two war conflicts together with the works of nursery schools on the theme of the bicycle.

Friday 14 June (6.30 pm), after the inauguration of the exhibition, conducted by the journalist Maurizio Marchesi, in which the champions of Faenza cycling, representatives of local sporting entities, institutions and sponsors will participate, the book will be presented ‘The mystery of the Tour. Triumphs and tragedies, secrets and mysteries of the most important race in the world from 1903 to the present day’ (Minerva Edizioni) by the journalist Beppe Conti in dialogue with the journalist Roberto Feroli.

Upcoming appointments: Monday 17 June (6pm) with the presentation of the book ‘Ask me who Pantani was’ (Ed. Rcs Mediagroup) by Francesco Ceniti who will dialogue with the journalist Alessandra Giardini.

Wednesday 19 June (8pm) there will be a screening of the documentary film ‘Le Grand Depart’preceded by a talk with the director Stefano Ferrari and the champion Gianni Bugno.

Wednesday 26 June (6.30 pm) the volume will be presented ‘The Pirate’s Map’ by Giacomo Pellizzari (Cairo Editore), the journalist Luca Gialanella will be in dialogue with the author.

Piazza del Popolo, Thursday 27 June (from 5.30pm to 8pm) will then host the ‘Children’s gymkhana on bikes’ with the presence of the stands of the local cycling associations and associations that deal with road safety, an initiative in collaboration with the Faenza Bicycle Council.

Then every Sunday, until 7 July, from 10am to 12pm and from 3pm to 7pm, the exhibition continues at the Risorgimento Museum (Palazzo Laderchi, Corso Garibaldi 2). ‘The War on Bikes’the vintage ‘two wheels’, from Vincenzo Collina’s collection, used by the armies in the First and Second World Wars.
