two days to inaugurate the summer

The events of the White Night in Udine.

The White Night of Udine doubles and becomes more engaging. The event that traditionally opens July in Udine becomes two days dedicated to fun, to celebrate the beginning of summer together.

In fact, from this edition the program becomes richer, combining the start of the summer sales with music, that of “Awakening Concert” and the pleasure of being together, with the unusual picnic of Di Punto in Bianco, which currently already has 2,200 members.

It starts the evening of Friday 5 July when there will be a preview of the summer sales in the city with the shops open until midnight and a series of events to accompany the initiative. The morning of Saturday 6 then to pair with the coffee and the breakfast croissant will be the overflowing energy of Roy Paci, who through the sound of his trumpet will involve the Udine public in a unique awakening, officially cutting the ribbon on a summer full of events in the city. But it didn’t end here because the day of the 6th it also gives the emotion of a gallant and informal dinner at the same time, when the army of white dresses will peacefully invade the city streets for the Edition of Di Punto in Bianco. The picnic, organized by Emporio ADV, is set to be a new success as it can already boast 2,200 registrations.

Children and families will also be welcome downtown. In fact, a corner will be set up in Piazza Libertà Face paintingwhile in Piazza XX Settembre there will be an area entirely dedicated to the little ones, with games, workshops and entertainment.

For the occasion, the administration has decided to make parking in the structure free from 6pm on Friday to 1am.

“We officially inaugurate the summer with the hope of filling the streets and streets of our elegant historic center” he explains Alessandro VenanziDeputy Mayor and Councilor for Tourism and major events.

“The liveliness of the historic center and our offer, including boutiques and meeting opportunities, is one of the most important points we are working on. For this reason we hope that citizens will want to participate with joy, rediscovering the pleasure of purchasing in-store and the experience of contact between people. This is why we have set up a program that has never been so rich.”

Shopping night

As per tradition on the night of 5 July, which precedes the start of the summer sales on national territory will see the shops in the center open until late in the evening. In fact, while the initiative organized by Confcommercio Udine/Pordenone in collaboration with the Commerce District will open the doors of the city’s commercial activities until midnight, outside there will be space for musical performances and outdoor shows starting from 7pm.

Via San Francesco, via Porta Nuova, piazza San Cristoforo, via Mercatovecchio and finally piazza Matteotti will be crossed by a traveling path of creative and artistic performances organized by ResearchArts. A different Friday than usual which will also include some activities linked to the world of art: there will be space for engaging dances, summer music, but also for artistic installations in collaboration with the Tiepolo Academy of Fine Arts in the Ex Tonini spaces. Corte Morpurgo will eventually transform into a open-air theaterthanks to the show “Rufum…laughing while telling the story”, organized by the Rufum Theater Brigade on Friday 5th at 7pm. The event will also be renewed the following evening, 6th July,This time with “The taste of Morpurgo, Secrets and Harmonies of Mayor Galantuomo” curated by the Alcatraz cultural association.

Roy Paci will take care of waking up the whole city from the Castle Stage in a few hours. After having made audiences all over the world dance with his Latin rhythms and brought his made in Italy ska to the stages of the most important international festivals, starting with the Festival de Verão in Salvador di Bahia and the Blue Frog Festival in Mumbai, passing for the United States and for the largest European events such as the Sziget Festival in Budapest, the PinkPop in the Netherlands, and the Fiesta Mundial in Belgium, starting from 7 in the morning the exceptional Sicilian trumpeter and jazzman will make the Colle Udine dance Saturday 6 July.

“Last year with 40 Fingers we created a great event and almost 3000 Udine residents wanted to sacrifice a few hours of sleep to participate in large numbers in a unique event like the awakening concert”, recalls Venanzi. “This year we chose the verve of Roy Paci, to find new rhythms to offer to the Udine public and to anticipate what we hope will be the Udine summer: participatory and exciting”, were the words of Venanzi.

Udine becomes white again with “Di Punto in Bianco”. Secret location until July 6th.

The initiatives will not end with the concert in the Castle. Saturday evening will also mark the return of “Out of the blue” the most glamorous and engaging urban picnic of the Udine summer. As always, white will dominate: everything must be white, the clothes, the tables, the chairs, the tablecloths, the mise en place chosen for your station and the ornamental decorations. After the 20 thousand people who participated in the previous editions, in the year of the official return, registrations have already reached 2,200. However, as per tradition, the location will remain secret until a few hours after the installations, when it will be communicated privately to all registered participants.
