The State Police of Marsala, last May 28, arrested CM and RM, both affected by police prejudice, as they were caught in the act of committing the crime of attempted multi-aggravated theft of a moped.
The police car in service during the night time slot – alerted by the report of a citizen – reached a street in the center of Marsala and found the presence of some people intent on tinkering with one scooter while another person stood a short distance away, acting as a so-called “pole”. These people, having noticed the arrival of the Police, made a hasty escape on board a moped, which is why the Agents engaged in a real chase, at the end of which the two fugitives were stopped and arrested.
Once searched, in addition to a balaclava, the two were found in possession of numerous materials suitable for burglary, including screwdrivers and wrenches, material seized, as well as another wrench found near the moped they intended to remove, which presented some damage and the forced steering lock.
The Marsala Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed of what had been ascertained and following the outcome of the relevant request for the application of precautionary measures, the Court of Marsala, in addition to validating the arrests, applied the obligation to stay to both suspects, prescribing the ban of removal from the Municipality of Marsala as well as leaving their respective homes between 9.00 pm and 7.00 am every day without authorization from the AG, as well as the obligation to report to the Judicial Police three days a week.
The moped was returned to the owner who intended to file a complaint for what happened to him.
