An important personality for the community is missing. Journalist Franco Farias died suddenly

The world of Abruzzo journalism is mourning the passing of one of its most representative and beloved figures: Franco Farias. The well-known journalist, report manager of Tgr Abruzzo and author of books, passed away at the age of 72 after his birthday on 30 May. His passing leaves an unfillable void not only in the editorial staff of our newspaper but in the entire regional media landscape.

A career dedicated to journalism

Franco Farias was a point of reference for Abruzzo television journalism. With his calm and precise voice he accompanied the people of Abruzzo for years, informing them with grace and education through the various editions of the Rai d’Abruzzo news. His career was marked by numerous services that described Abruzzo in its many facets, contributing to making the region and its stories known even outside the local borders.

A commitment beyond the news. In addition to his work at Tgr Abruzzo, Franco Farias has made an important contribution to the world of culture and information by actively participating in the Flaiano Awards events together with Edoardo Tiboni. His versatility also saw him in the role of presenter during some editions of the events that took place at Le Naiadi. His professional commitment was recognized not only by his colleagues but also by the city of Pescara which ten years ago awarded him the prestigious “Golden ciattè“.

An esteemed and well-liked man. The figure of Franco Farias was highly appreciated both in the world of journalism and in private life. Esteemed for his professionalism, he was also well-liked for his human qualities. His role as secretary of the Abruzzo Press Association and advisor to the Order of Journalists further testifies to his profound commitment to the ethical principles of the profession.
