Calabria: the Region on the field to support farmers, 15 million euros available for them: calls for advance information by 20 June.

This is the heart of the plan put in place by the Region to support Calabrian farmers, following the initiative of the presidency of the regional council and the agriculture department.

The planned interventions, in continuity with the 2014-2022 programming, will concern, first of all, breed breeding (such as podolica cowthe rustic goatThe black pigthe Nicastre goat and the Aspromonte goat) typical of the southern Apennines and inherent to the history of Calabria, of extreme value and at risk of extinction. For them, as early as 2022, with a specific resolution of the Council, a procedure was started which, thanks to the work of technical-scientific commissions made up of experts from the Region, Arsac and the three Calabrian universities, led to the establishment of the regional biodiversity registerwhich currently contains 9 plant species and 4 animals (podolica, Aspromonte goat, black pig, Nicastre goat).

Specifically, through the 10 million tender based on the Calabria CSR 2023-2027 (2 million for each year), which will be published in advance information by June 20th, a contribution will be recognized to breeders committed to maintaining breeds that represent an identity trait of the internal areas of the South.

Within the same term, with a five-year coverage equal to 5 millionone for each year, will see the light on call for compensation for farmers damaged by bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis.

In particular, the ASP of Crotone, in concert with the Agriculture and Health Departments, has prepared an extraordinary plan which will extend throughout 2024 and 2025, through specific measures and with the collaboration of the professionals involved in the control and fight against the spread of the two epizootics, which cause damage in the meat, milk and derivatives production sectors: currently, farmers receiving a culling order from the competent ASP are already paid compensation, established by decree of the Minister of Health , which is however significantly lower than the market value of the animals killed.

The regional announcement will instead allow recognition, in the form of community helpthe difference in cost compared to the market value, exclusively in favor of whoever will provide buy back the animals for the reconstitution of the livestock herd.

Tuscany: Increase animal welfare standards with a 3 million tender for farmers.

Investments are planned to adapt the supply of water and feed according to the natural needs of the breeding, for the care of the animals and the improvement of housing conditions (for example by increasing the availability of space, floor surfaces, enrichment materials, natural light), and to offer access to the outdoors for animals.

Public supportgranted in the form of a capital contribution, may be of the80% as basic contribution or if the beneficiary is a young farmer And by 85% if the beneficiary is a “small agricultural company” as required by EU regulation no. 2472/2022.
