The letter from the former DS of Cosenza Gemmi: «It’s not a farewell, but a goodbye»

The farewell letter from the former sporting director of Cosenza Calcio, Roberto Gemmi, was moving and assured: “It’s not a goodbye”.

«Dear Cosentini, hello everyone! It’s difficult to express the emotions I feel these days and also to think that I will no longer be the sporting director of Cosenza.
It wasn’t what I expected, it wasn’t what I wanted.” Thus begins the farewell letter from the now former sporting director of Cosenza football, Roberto Gemmi. A touching greeting to the city which «contrary to what they told me – he continues in his letter – before arriving here, is a wonderful place. Deep friendships were born here, I met extraordinary people and people I love.”

Gemmi will therefore no longer be the sporting director of Cosenza football, «our paths will divide» he says, but underlines «not by my will».
And he is keen to specify: «It has never been a question of money, but, for me, only of the heart. I waited, in vain and well beyond the limit, for a response to my calls. In the end, I was forced to give myself an answer and I wouldn’t have wanted it to be this one.”

Despite the bitterness, however, Gemmi says he is enthusiastic about the future that will see him as sporting director of Empoli. «Now a new adventure awaits me that gives me a lot of energy and adrenaline, Armando and I are grateful and proud of it and we can’t wait to get started».
However, before saying goodbye to Cosenza football, Gemmi is keen to «greet and thank everyone, hoping not to forget anyone. I thank the club, Kevin, the secretary, the medical staff, the players, the coaches and their staff, the headquarters staff, the warehouse workers, the legendary stewards Marcello and Giorgio and all the workers.”

«I am proud to have worked in this club, in this city that has become my home and will continue to be so» he closes.
«The biggest hug goes to you fans, thank you for encouraging me, criticizing me, helping me improve and for making me experience strong and unforgettable emotions.
Always be proud of yourselves, because I am.”
And he promises: «This is not a goodbye, but a goodbye.
JAMU WOLVES ALWAYS”

THE FAREWELL LETTER FROM THE FORMER COSENZA FOOTBALL DIRECTOR ROBERTO GEMMI

Dear Cosentini,
Hi everyone!
It’s difficult to express the emotions I feel these days and also to think that I will no longer be the sporting director of Cosenza.
It wasn’t what I expected, it wasn’t what I wanted.
Cosenza, contrary to what they told me before arriving here, is a wonderful place.
Deep friendships were born here, I met extraordinary people and people I love.
Our paths will part, but not by my will.
It was never a question of money, but, for me, only of the heart.
I waited, in vain and well beyond the limit, for a response to my calls.
In the end, I was forced to give myself an answer and I didn’t want it to be this one.
Now a new adventure awaits me that gives me a lot of energy and adrenaline, Armando and I are grateful and proud of it and can’t wait to get started.
I want to greet and thank everyone, hoping not to forget anyone. I thank the club, Kevin, the secretary, the medical staff, the players, the coaches and their staff, the headquarters staff, the warehouse workers, the legendary stewards Marcello and Giorgio and all the professionals involved.
I am proud to have worked in this club, in this city that has become my home and will continue to be.
The biggest hug goes to you fans, thank you for encouraging me, criticizing me, helping me improve and for making me experience strong and unforgettable emotions.
Always be proud of yourself, because I am.
This is not goodbye, but goodbye.
JAMU WOLVES ALWAYS.

Roberto Gemmi
