The European elections say that Veneto has changed colour. After 15 years of blue dyes with Forza Italia at the time of governor Giancarlo Galanthe green of the League with president Luca Zaia, here is the victory of Brothers of Italy. One year after the regional elections, Veneto is officially the most Melonian region in the country. The unknown factor of Forza Italia
The League, now a former monopolist in regional politics, this time stops at 13.6%, down from 14.5% in 2022. Better than the national figure for the Northern League (9.10%) but it is little consolation because, seen from the Veneto, the European elections are the scales on which to “weigh” once and for all the three centre-right parties in view of a new leadership in Palazzo Balbi, the seat of the Veneto regional council, “occupied” since 2010 by Luca Zaia. The last unknown is the announced growth of Forza Italia. A growth which, according to the deputy prime minister Antonio Tajani and the regional coordinator Flavio Tosi (former mayor of Verona and regional secretary of the League, from which he was expelled) would have been double digits. A prediction that just missed. The blues stop at 9.7% in Italy and it is worse in Veneto: 8.58. A figure which, however, is growing compared to 7% in 2022. In summary, if there was ever a need for an official stamp, it seems crystal clear that in Veneto the Melonians now dominate on a League cornered by a drastic drop in support. Rovigo, the only capital municipality to vote, with FdI over 40% is probably the one most melonian province in Italyit certainly is from Veneto.
The opposition
As for the opposition, the Democratic Party grows compared to 16.3% of 2022 and reaches 18.87%, five abundant points over the League.
