The counting operations for the 2024 Pavia municipal elections will begin at 2pm today, Monday 10 June. The centre-right candidate, Alessandro Cantoni, will try to keep the city after the outgoing mayor Fabrizio Fracassi decided not to run again. The opposition presented itself as united with Michele Lissia.
The city of Pavia will know its own new mayor at the end of the counting of the ballots, which will begin at 2pm today, Monday 10 June. While all of Italy was voting to choose the new European parliamentarians and in Piedmont the new regional council, the people of Pavia were called to the 2024 municipal elections to indicate the figure who will take the place of the outgoing mayor Fabrizio Fracassi. The turnout when the polls closed, i.e. at 11pm on Sunday 9 June, was 57.81 percent. A figure that is down compared to the 2019 election round, when he voted for 63.87 percent of those entitled. In that case, Fracassi had won in the first round, obtaining 53 percent of the preferences and trailing the candidate for the centre-left, Ilaria Cristiani, by over 20 points (stationary at 30.93 percent).
