All 866 sections of the province have been scrutinized and the results of the European elections in the Veronese area are therefore definitive. Results that differ a little from the national ones.
As in Italy, also in the province of Verona the most voted party is Fratelli d’Italia, with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni receiving more than 50 thousand preferences. What stands out as a difference from the national figure is the separation of the Brothers of Italy from the Democratic Party, which came second both in Italy and in the Veronese area. Except that at the Italian level the difference between the two parties is around one million votes, which in percentage is almost 5%. In the province of Verona, however, Fratelli d’Italia received more than double the votes of the PD. The prime minister’s party received just over 150 thousand votes from Veronese voters with a percentage close to 39%. Elly Schlein’s party exceeded 62 thousand votes with a percentage of 16%.
Another difference between the Veronese vote and the Italian vote is the third most voted party. In Italy, behind the Democratic Party there is the 5 Star Movement, then Forza Italia and the League. In the province of Verona, however, the balance of power in the center-right is reversed and the League not only received more votes than Forza Italia but is also the third most voted party by the people of Verona. The League in the province of Verona exceeded 12% while throughout Italy it reached just 9%. Forza Italia is the fourth party in the Veronese area with almost 11% of the votes. And in fifth place among the parties most voted by the people of Verona is the Green Left Alliance which, with its 6%, did better than the 5 Star Movement (4%).
Below 4% of Veronese voters arrived in order: United States of Europe, Action, Peace, Earth, Dignity, Freedom, Popular Alternative and SVP.
The Veronese candidate who received the most votes is Daniele Polato with over 19 thousand preferences. In the League, the Veronese leader Paolo Borchia exceeds 11 thousand preferences but does not do better than Roberto Vannacci, who is the Northern League candidate with the most preferences (more than 14 thousand). In Forza Italia, the most voted by the Veronese is Flavio Tosi. And in the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra the leaders Cristina Guarda and the Veronese Jessica Cugini are second and third respectively, behind Mimmo Lucano.
In all, more than 402 thousand Veronese people went to vote between last Saturday and Sunday, but the valid votes were just over 387 thousand.
