Local candidates do not pass the European elections in the Forlì area. Even with the data not yet definitive due to the lack of very few sections, Rosaria Tassinari, Forza Italia MP, regional coordinator of the Azzurri, obtained 5,501 preferences, of which 2,361 in the province of Forlì-Cesena. She is in fifth place and therefore far from the only seat that will be available in the North East constituency for Forza Italia.

Also far from the election is Giacomo Zattini, a 27-year-old from Meldola, member of the 5 Star Movement and a past in the coordination of Fridays for Future: he obtained 4,554 preferences, of which 1,430 in the province of Forlì-Cesena. For him too a fifth position which keeps him away from the seat. Again among the people of Forlì, Bruno Molea comes last in terms of preferences in Forza Italia: in the constituency he wins 706, of which 342 in the province of Fofrlì-Cesena.

Among the candidates who have had dealings with Forlì, Elisabetta Gualmini, outgoing PD MEP (who obtained around 57 thousand preferences) and former university professor of political science in Forlì, is close to re-election. Since she is fourth (after Stefano Bonaccini, Alessandro Zan and Alessandra Moretti), by virtue of the good result of the Democratic Party in the constituency she could be elected. Also in the Democratic Party, Silvia Panini, exponent of the ‘Volt’ political movement, former student of Political Science in Forlì, obtained 13,585 votes (she did not make it to the election). Finally, among the non-elected also Elettra Stamboulis, from Ravenna and former head teacher of the Artistic High School and the Comprehensive Institute of the Montone Valley, who received 1,226 preferences in the constituency.

Bruno Molea (Forza Italia) comments on the defeat: “A beautiful, difficult and dense adventure: to those who supported me, my heartfelt thanks. However, I note that the third sector and basic sports are not issues that interest the general public: for my part, I will continue to defend them, increasingly convinced that they do the good of the community. I did not reach the European seat but this does not change my commitment one step, unchanged for 40 years. I believed in the possibility of representing the Third Sector and grassroots sport in Europe in a historical moment in which there is a need for social policies entrusted to those with long experience in the sector and in which sport is threatened by isolation and economic and values: this, already the result of my experience in the field, also emerged in these 40 days of consultations and discussions during which I met hundreds of new sports businesses and volunteers and social workers”.
