while awaiting the results of the administrative elections, Fratelli d’Italia is the first party in the European elections

Fratelli d’Italia also wins in Umbria. Giorgia Meloni’s party conquers 32.62% obtaining 128,114 preferences. According to the Democratic Party with 26.38% and 103,583 votes. Followed by the 5 Star Movement with 8.87% (34,817), Forza Italia at 8.38% (32,905 votes) and Lega 6.83% (26,818). And again the Green Alliance and the Left at 5.71% (22,426), United States of Europe 3.05% (11,988), Action We Are Europeans 2.53% (9,950), Peace, Land and Dignity 2.37% (9,288), Popular Alternative 1.84% (7,245 ), Sovereign People’s Democracy 0.79% (3,109), Freedom 0.63% (2,457).

In Umbria the definitive turnout stood at around 60.81%, 6.88 percentage points less than in 2019. In the province of Perugia 67.58% voted and 71.71% in that of Terni. For the European elections, more people voted in the province of Perugia where 62.94% of those entitled to vote went to the polls compared to 54.66% in that of Terni. The turnout in the Umbrian capital reached 71.35%, where there was also a vote for the mayor (65.84 in the municipal elections).

In Foligno the turnout was 63.07%, in Marsciano 71.56% and in Gubbio 68.49%. Gualdo Tadino recorded 66.39% while Bastia Umbra 66.33%. The record for the 2024 municipal elections belongs to Cerreto di Spoleto (83.31%). Last municipality in the ranking is Magione (61.05%).

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, we await the results of the administrative elections with as many as 60 Municipalities (39 in the province of Perugia, 21 in that of Terni) that have gone to the polls to elect mayor and city councillors. All eyes are on the seven cities with more than 15,000 inhabitants – Bastia Umbra, Castiglione del Lago, Foligno, Gubbio, Marsciano, Perugia and Orvieto – which may not elect the mayor in the first round but in the subsequent run-off on 23 and 24 June.
