An entire weekend dedicated to rediscovering the past. The 14, 15 and 16 June they return European Days of Archeology (Gea/Jea), the initiative which sees places of culture organize events and activities that allow visitors to learn about the characteristics of places and professions of this world. On the occasion of Gea 2024, theCanne della Battaglia Antiquarium It also welcomes visitors to its warehouses and exceptionally reveals its heritage which is not usually on display.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th then, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the doors of the warehouses will be open of the Antiquarium. Visitors, grouped into groups of up to 10 people, will be able to participate in the guided tour, entitled Canne opens the deposits: a journey along a century of excavationswhich will reveal spaces and work tools generally reserved for archaeologists, restorers, conservators and scholars.

Furthermore, on both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11:00 and 16:00, a guided tour of the different sections of the museum will take place. The itinerary, entitled From the Mother Goddess to medieval ceramics: Canne told by its archaeological evidencewill include a journey from the Neolithic to the 14th century AD, among the finds from the various Ophantine contexts.

The Gea/Jea are an event sponsored by European Council and promoted in Italy by the General Directorate of Museums and the General Directorate of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Ministry of Culture.
